Contracts Manager

On behalf of our client (academic institution), we are looking for Contracts Manager to join their Institution Building team.

Contracts Manager - (AGM Level)

Department: Projects Design & Planning

Location: Gandhinagar, Gujarat

The Contracts Manager will oversee end-to-end contract management, including assistance in tendering, compliance, change management and dispute resolution. This role ensures contractual safeguards, financial prudence, and smooth coordination between stakeholders to achieve project and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement strategy, assist in tendering processes, and align internal approvals.
• Draft, review, and finalize RFP & contracts, ensuring legal compliance and safeguarding client interests.
• Manage cost estimation & budgeting projections. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and contractual terms.
• Handle contractual disputes, claims, and change order management proactively.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, design, and project execution teams for seamless project delivery.
• Establish KPIs for vendor performance and ensure timely delivery of contracted services.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all contracts, amendments, and correspondence for audit purposes and advise senior management on risk mitigation strategies related to contracts and procurement.

Education

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent (mandatory).
• MBA / PGDM in Contract Management, Finance, or Construction Management (preferred).

Experience

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in contracts and commercial management for large-scale projects, preferably institutional, IT campuses, or infrastructure.

Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in FIDIC, EPC, and turnkey contracts.
• Strong negotiation, risk assessment, and claims management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of procurement strategies, cost control, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance, taxation, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
• High proficiency in contract drafting and documentation.
