About Muskaan:

Muskaan-PAEPID was started in 1982 by parents and professionals with the intention of filling up a void in required services and facilities for children and adults with intellectual disability (ID) and their families. Muskaan and is well known for its pioneering work in the field of providing training and work opportunities to adults with ID. Family support, assisted living, awareness and advocacy are other areas of work of the organization. After receiving training in various skills, our students work within Muskaan in distinct units like stationary, bakery etc. creating products, available for the outside world to buy. Students have also been able to secure employment outside Muskaan with partner organizations in various industries

 

About Digital Resource Library:

The Digital Resource Library (DRL) is an innovative platform by Muskaan-PAEPID, designed to preserve and share decades of knowledge, training methodologies, and best practices developed for empowering Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PwIDs). It serves as a centralized hub for teaching-learning materials, including videos, flashcards, lesson plans, and interactive resources, aimed at enhancing life skills, vocational training, and personal development for PwIDs.

The DRL will be accessible to trainers, educators, families, and partner organizations, ensuring inclusivity and scalability. It bridges geographical barriers, enabling NGOs and families from remote areas to access quality resources and replicate Muskaan's proven models. By leveraging technology, the DRL ensures that Muskaan’s expertise reaches a wider audience, fostering empowerment, independence, and inclusion for PwIDs across India.

Job Summary:

Content Developer

Key Responsibilities:


Content Creation & Management

  • Create, curate, and edit digital resources including videos, photographs, flashcards, and infographics tailored for PwIDs and their families.
  • Develop user-friendly and engaging Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) for the Digital Resource Library.
  • Work with subject matter experts to translate concepts into effective and accessible content.

Creative Design

  • Design visually appealing layouts and templates for digital and print resources.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all content formats.

Multimedia Production

  • Plan and execute video shoots, including scripting, filming, and editing.
  • Capture professional-quality photographs to showcase training sessions, PwIDs’ activities, and Muskaan’s programs.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with trainers, educators, and other team members to ensure content aligns with Muskaan’s training methodologies.
  • Liaise with external vendors and freelancers for specialized content creation needs.

Quality Assurance

  • Review and test content to ensure high standards of accuracy, relevance, and visual appeal.
  • Incorporate feedback from trainers, students, and families to improve content usability.

Digital Strategy

  • Contribute to the development and organization of the Digital Resource Library to ensure intuitive navigation and user engagement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to incorporate innovative content formats and tools.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Multimedia Production, Communication, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in content development, multimedia production, or instructional design.
  • Prior experience working with PwIDs or in the disability sector is desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in photography, videography, and composition techniques to create visually compelling and impactful content.
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva etc).
  • Familiarity with tools for creating interactive flashcards and digital learning resources.
  • Basic knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content.

Creative Skills:

  • Strong storytelling ability to create engaging and impactful content.
  • Aesthetic sense to design visually appealing and inclusive materials.

Other Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
