Job Description – Site Construction Engineer (Refractory Projects) Job Purpose: To ensure effective execution and coordination of site construction activities in line with senior management instructions and project guidelines. The role focuses on ensuring all refractory jobs are executed safely, within the target timeline, and with high quality. The incumbent will also contribute to other similar projects within the group as required. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities 1. Site Execution Strategy Interpret complex engineering drawings and QA/QC requirements for application. Develop schedules, conduct reviews, provide feedback, and ensure timely execution of projects. 2. Vendor & Partner Coordination Evaluate and benchmark major application partners. Finalize scope division between client and vendor, ensuring clarity and no gaps. Select vendors capable of delivering project-specific technical solutions. 3. Project Progress & Quality Monitoring Work closely with construction partners to ensure quality execution of refractory works. Monitor job progress, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety standards. 4. Planning & Execution Establish project monitoring and control systems in coordination with senior team members. Support commissioning and stabilization of operations & maintenance (O&M) with the existing O&M team. Oversee post-project activities such as meeting PG parameters, closing purchase orders, and completing contract formalities. 5. People Management Lead and manage internal and external site teams. Train and mentor the next level of team members for effective execution. Provide guidance and coaching to junior engineers, GETs, and OJTs for future O&M roles. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline. 5–10 years of experience in refractory construction/project execution. Strong knowledge of refractory applications, QA/QC processes, and safety compliance. Proven ability in vendor management, scheduling, and execution monitoring.
