Position Overview:

Legal HR – Policy Audit Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Review & Audit:

  • Conduct periodic audits of existing HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Identify discrepancies, outdated clauses, or compliance risks, and recommend appropriate updates or changes.
  • Compliance Monitoring:

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes related to labor and employment law, and proactively incorporate updates into company policies.
  • Work closely with the legal team to interpret and apply legal and regulatory requirements to HR processes.
  • Policy Development & Standardization:

  • Draft, review, and standardize HR policies and SOPs across all business units to ensure clarity, legal compliance, and organizational consistency.
  • Support new policy creation in line with company objectives and legal standards.
  • Internal Collaboration & Advisory:

  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, and Internal Audit to ensure cohesive policy implementation and audit readiness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to HR teams and business units on policy interpretation and compliance concerns.
  • Training & Communication:

  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on HR policies and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication of policy changes to employees and management.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all policy reviews, changes, and audits conducted.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on policy compliance status and risks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or LLB/LLM preferred).
  • 4–6 years of experience in HR compliance, legal HR, or policy audit roles.
  • Solid understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in policy drafting, compliance audits, and working with legal teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., fintech, tech).
  • Familiarity with ISO audits, internal controls, or risk assessments is a plus.
