Reporting to:- Program Manager About the Project Globally, two out of three Zero Dose-ZD (children who haven t received any dose of DPT containing vaccine) children live in households below the poverty line ( Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of ZD children in India stood at around 1.3 million. In 2021, the figure alarmingly went up to 2.7 million. Data from NFHS-5 reveals a troubling scenario concerning ZD children aged 12-23 months. Although, there has been a reduction in overall ZD prevalence by 4.1%, significant disparity exists in Bihar where ZD prevalence stands at 6.4%. Data indicates a slower reduction in ZD prevalence among specific demographics, including girl child, first-born child, among others. COVID-19 pandemic has critically impacted immunization programs, posing risk of reversing the gains made over decades. Bihar, despite rapid response to COVID-19 vaccination, witnessed setbacks during and immediately after the pandemic, including outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases like Measles-Rubella. This project aims to address these disparities, rebuild the momentum lost due to the pandemic, overcome systemic barriers aligning with national priorities / policies and together with community involvement. The person will work closely with the Project Manager and Life Education Mentors. This position will report to the Project Manager. The key deliverables will be quality and timely implementation of the program as per plan. Responsible for planning regular monitoring and periodic review of the program. It is a non-profit development organization with a mandate of for the poorest. SEI started its work in India in 1960 and initially worked to eliminate leprosy as a public health problem. For the last 62 years, SEI has dedicated itself to improving lives of people affected by leprosy and other poverty-related diseases. From supporting tertiary care leprosy services along with field-based services, SEI has come a long way in ensuring that fair health services are available to the marginalised communities in India. The project will focus on the poorest people and communities in the district of Durg that are most neglected, most discriminated or disadvantaged and most at risk of experiencing health inequities. Job Summary The project manager will be in charge of the project and will oversee and manage it and the project team under the guidance of the Deputy Director and the Country Executive Director of SEI.
