Communications Intern

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented intern to support the Communications team at Wadhwani AI. This role will focus on building strong internal relationships, gathering updates from cross-functional teams, and translating those into actionable inputs for communications outputs like social media posts, press notes, blogs, and more.

The role will be a bridge between internal teams, ensuring timely flow of accurate, structured information to support marketing and outreach efforts.

Duration- 6 months

1. Relationship Building & Coordination – Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments to gather updates, events, milestones, and key information; regularly coordinate with product managers, program teams, and other internal stakeholders.
2. Information Management – Skilled at organizing and structuring incoming updates for easy use by content writers and designers; creating concise weekly digests for the Communications team.
3. Opportunity Identification – Capable of spotting communication opportunities in internal updates (e.g., product launches, deployments, field stories, events) and flagging them promptly.
4. Process Streamlining – Experience in improving workflows by automating repetitive tracking and reporting tasks; familiarity with task/project management tools like Atlassian Confluence or Asana is a plus.
5. Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, concise summaries and draft internal notes or documentation.
6. Organizational Skills – Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple work streams efficiently.
7. Domain Understanding – Background in communications and the development sector; understanding of technology is an advantage.
8. Mindset – Proactive, curious, collaborative, and adaptable; prior experience in internal communications or project coordination (including academic or volunteer work) is desirable.
