Job Description

Job Title:

Location:

Cognos Developer with strong Project Management expertise

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end Cognos development including Report Studio, Workspace Advanced, Query Studio, and Cognos Framework Manager (FM).
Design, develop, and optimize complex reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc solutions in Cognos Analytics (v11.x and above).
Perform performance tuning of Cognos reports and metadata models.
Work with multiple data sources (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) and implement role-based security and deployment strategies.
Manage BI/IT projects, including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and execution monitoring.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Apply Agile/Waterfall methodologies and ensure adherence to SDLC best practices.
Drive reporting/BI project delivery in enterprise environments.

Cognos Developer Skills:

Minimum 10 years of hands-on IBM Cognos experience.
Strong expertise in report development, metadata modeling, and dashboard creation.
In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and SQL.
Experience in integrating Cognos with multiple data sources.
Proven experience in performance tuning and BI report optimization.

Project Manager Skills:

1214 years of IT/BI experience with 4–6 years as a Project Manager or BI Lead.
Expertise in project planning, scope management, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication.
Proficiency with project management tools like JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet, or Asana.
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is a strong advantage.
