Role Summary

The Cluster Manager is responsible for end-to-end milk procurement operations across the allotted Milk Collection Centers (MCCs)


Key Responsibilities

1. Milk Procurement & Quality Control

  • Plan, monitor, and achieve daily/weekly/monthly milk procurement targets.
  • Ensure adherence to quality parameters (SNF, fat %, bacterial count, etc.) and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with farmers, societies, and transport partners to maintain uninterrupted milk flow.

2. Operations Management

  • Supervise day-to-day functioning of all the allotted  MCCs, including weighing, chilling, testing, and dispatch etc.
  • Maintain optimal utilization of chilling capacity, energy, and manpower.
  • Oversee logistics for timely milk movement to processing plants.

3. Farmer & Vendor Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dairy farmers, cooperative societies, and village level collection points.
  • Conduct farmer meetings and training on clean milk production, animal health, and feeding practices.
  • Address grievances promptly to enhance confidence / loyalty of farmers.

4. Financial & Administrative Control

  • Monitor procurement costs, incentives, and payments to producers.
  • Prepare and review budgets, daily collection reports, and monthly MIS.
  • Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and adherence to audit requirements.

5. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Milk Chilling Centre Incharges , Procurement Officers, MCC Supervisors, and field staff etc.
  • Plan shift schedules, training, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or related fields (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • 8 – 10  years of experience in milk procurement operations,  with at least 2 years in a supervisory/cluster role.
  • Strong knowledge of milk procurement operations, quality parameters, chilling operations, logistics operations and procurement economics etc.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-location teams.
