Civil Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Interpret and execute architectural and structural layout drawings with complete accuracy.
• Prepare, check, and monitor Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) for reinforcement steel.
• Supervise excavation, foundation, piling, and superstructure works as per design and standards.
• Ensure formwork, shuttering, and scaffolding are properly designed, erected, and dismantled safely.
• Monitor concreting works including grade verification, mix design, slump, and cube testing.
• Verify material quality (cement, steel, aggregates, blocks, etc.) as per IS codes.
• Ensure alignment, levels, plumb, and dimensions of structures at every stage.
• Coordinate with structural consultants, architects, and MEP teams to resolve site issues.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols at site.
• Check and approve construction methodology, pour cards, and site execution checklists.
• Monitor progress as per project schedule and highlight any delays.
• Prepare and maintain daily site reports, measurement sheets, and progress records.
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure zero-defect execution.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, supervisors, and contractors.
• Optimize material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Handle site surveys, leveling, and setting out works using total station or auto level.
• Verify post-concreting curing, de-shuttering time, and surface finishing.
• Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC norms, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate for third-party testing (NDT, cube testing, reinforcement testing, etc.).
• Ensure proper waterproofing, finishing works, and durability measures for high-rise construction.
• Monitor bill certification and reconciliation of materials at site.
• Work as a key link between design office and site execution team to resolve discrepancies.
