Job Description

Position Summary

The Chief Procurement Manager in healthcare leads the strategic sourcing and acquisition of medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and services. This role ensures cost-effective, compliant, and timely procurement to support patient care, clinical operations, and hospital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with clinical and operational goals.
  • Forecast demand for medical products and negotiate long-term contracts with suppliers.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising patient safety or quality.
Healthcare-Specific Sourcing
  • Oversee procurement of:
    • Medical devices and consumables
    • Fleet and fabrication
    • ERC Interior and IT Equipments
    • Pharmaceuticals and biologics
    • Diagnostic equipment
    • Facility maintenance and sanitation supplies
  • Ensure compliance with MEMS Tender/RFP documents

Supplier & Inventory Management

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and product quality.
  • Implement inventory control systems to reduce waste and prevent stockouts.
  • Monitor the fuel consumption is appropriate in all the fleets

Data & Compliance Oversight

  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Ensure ethical sourcing and adherence to organisational procurement policies.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and clinical teams to manage contracts and budgets.

Team Development

  • Lead and mentor procurement officers and support staff.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with pharmacy, Operation, Stores and biomedical engineering departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Healthcare Administration (MBA or MHA preferred).
  • 8-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital operations, medical product standards, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
