Position Summary

The individual must demonstrate extensive expertise and a proven track record in Charge Posting in their professional career.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the charge posting team.
  • Monitor daily workload distribution and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
  • Provide training and upskilling for new and existing team members.
  • Oversee accurate posting of charges for all specialties based on encounter forms, EMR reports, coding sheets, and documentation.
  • Ensure that all charges are entered within the defined TAT (Turnaround Time).
  • Review and approve complex charge entries and corrections.
  • Validate that CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers are aligned with provider documentation and coding guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to payer policies, billing regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor quality indicators such as accuracy, productivity, and audit scores.
  • Conduct periodic quality audits and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the Coding Team to prevent recurring errors or denials.
  • Analyze charge posting trends, gaps, and recurring issues.
  • Suggest and implement workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Work with the IT/EMR team to resolve charge-file issues or system errors.

5. Communication & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with physicians, coders, billers, and practice managers to resolve charge-related queries.
  • Work with the AR and Denials teams to correct charge-related denials.
  • Prepare and present charge posting performance reports to management.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain updated SOPs for charge posting processes.
  • Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and quality reports.
  • Identify outliers and implement corrective action plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 12

    + years of experience

    in charge posting within US healthcare RCM.
  • Minimum 5

    + years of team handling experience

    in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Familiarity with EMRs/EHRs (Epic, Athena, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage timelines, and multitask.
  • Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and workflow management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
