Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Linux Engineer with a strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and a deep understanding of software components.The ideal candidate will be RHCE/RHCSA certified with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Linux-based systems in a production environment.
System Administration & Management
This role will involve ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our critical infrastructure, as well as collaborating with development and operations teams to support our software Responsibilities :
-  Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in a production environment.
-  Perform regular system updates, patching, and security hardening following best practices.
-  Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and logs to identify and resolve issues proactively.
-  Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
-  Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
-  Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python) for automation of routine tasks.
-  Configure and manage networking services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, FirewallD/iptables).
-  Manage storage (LVM, NFS, CIFS) and file Components & Application Support :
-  Possess a strong understanding of how software components interact within a Linux environment.
-  Install, configure, and manage various software packages and dependencies.
-  Troubleshoot application-level issues related to Linux OS, libraries, and configurations.
-  Collaborate with development teams to ensure optimal performance and stability of applications deployed on Linux.
-  Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their deployment on Linux.
-  Knowledge of web servers (Apache, Nginx) and application & Alerting :
-  Implement and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) to track system health and
 
performance.
-  Configure alerts and notifications for critical & Compliance :
-  Implement and enforce security best practices for Linux systems.
-  Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
-  Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry & Collaboration :
-  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
-  Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and other operations staff.
-  Participate in on-call rotation as needed (if applicable).
-  Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the Qualifications :
-  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
-  RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) OR RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) certification is mandatory.
-  Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a production environment.
-  Demonstrable knowledge of core software components and how they interact within a Linux ecosystem (e.g., libraries, daemons, inter-process communication, package management).
-  Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one other scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl).
-  Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls).
-  Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
-  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
-  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-  Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced Qualifications (Nice to Have) :
-  Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
-  Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
-  Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
-  Knowledge of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) administration on Linux.
-  Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
-  Understanding of ITIL framework
