Role Overview: As the Head of Private Label Function in the FMCG category, you will be responsible for driving innovation, profitability, and category leadership across the private label portfolio. You will own the end-to-end vision and execution of the FMCG private label business, requiring strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Close collaboration with product, supply chain, and marketing functions will be essential for success in this high-impact leadership role. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a comprehensive private label strategy aligned with organizational growth goals. - Lead category development, product innovation, and portfolio expansion across FMCG segments. - Manage supplier ecosystems, negotiate contracts, and ensure supply chain excellence. - Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, marketing, and operations for seamless go-to-market execution. - Drive commercial success through data-driven pricing, promotions, and customer insights. - Lead and mentor a high-performing team of category managers and analysts. Qualifications Required: - Education: MBA from a premier institute (IIM/ISB/equivalent). - Consulting Experience: At least 1 year of experience with an MBB firm (McKinsey, BCG, or Bain) is mandatory. - Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering scalable business outcomes. - Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills with a strategic mindset. Additional Details: This role requires 10 years of industry experience in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce with a minimum of 2 years in private label/category management. Exposure to modern trade, digital commerce, or omnichannel retail is preferred. Experience in emerging FMCG segments such as health & wellness, organic, or sustainable products will be advantageous. Certifications in quality or process excellence (Six Sigma, ISO, etc.) are beneficial.
