THE ROLE
At Bombay Sweet Shop , we9re redefining mithai by blending traditional flavors with a contemporary twist. We're on the lookout for a dynamic Cafe Manager who can oversee the day-to-day operations of our vibrant caf , ensuring smooth service and a fantastic customer experience. As part of the Hunger Inc. family, which also includes The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica9s, and Papa9s, Bombay Sweet Shop is more than just a modern-day mithai shop. It9s a space where heritage and innovation come together, creating unforgettable moments for our customers.
To make this happen, we need a passionate, organized, and energetic leader who can manage operations with precision and inspire a team to deliver the very best every day.


YOUR TEAM

You9ll be leading a dedicated team of front-of-house staff, working closely with them to ensure everything runs smoothly, from training new hires to managing daily operations. Together, you9ll create an environment where both guests and staff thrive.
WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO
You will report directly to the Head of Operations, a leader who shares your passion for excellent customer service, team development, and the art of mithai.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support the caf team, ensuring high standards of service, smooth operations, and well-trained staff.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee caf operations, manage stock levels, place supplier orders, and ensure the space is clean, organized, and ready for daily service.
  • Customer Experience: Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, handle inquiries or complaints, and ensure every guest has a memorable visit.
  • Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and expenses.
  • Menu Innovation: Experiment with seasonal menus and beverages, creating new offerings that reflect customer preferences and trends.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to health, safety, and hygiene SOPs.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Head of Operations to streamline processes, improve service, and develop long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced caf or restaurant environment, with a focus on customer service and operations.
  • A strong team leader who can manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of people.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with a solid understanding of POS systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as required by the caf 's operating hours.
  • Pre-opening experience is a bonus but not essential.
