Core Responsibilities

Market Research & Opportunity Identification

Conduct thorough
market research
, analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to pinpoint growth areas.
Evaluate potential markets, gaps, and conduct SWOT or feasibility analyses for expansion strategies.

Strategic Planning & Execution

Formulate
business development strategies
aligned with company objectives, spanning both short-term and long-term goals.
Oversee the
implementation
of these strategies across departments, adjusting based on performance and feedback.

Lead Generation & Sales Cycle Management

Proactively generate leads via networking, cold outreach, events, CRM systems, and digital campaigns.
Manage deals from initial contact to closure, leveraging strong negotiation and proposal skills.

Relationship Building & Networking

Build, nurture, and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, aiming for both acquisition and retention.
Represent the company effectively at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

Work closely with marketing, sales, product, finance, and operations teams for seamless strategic alignment and execution.
Contribute to product development, competitive positioning, and internal communication strategies.

Financial Planning & Reporting

Develop and manage budgets, forecast revenue, assess ROI, and align business development activities with financial goals.
Monitor KPIs such as pipeline growth, lead conversion rates, deal closure, and satisfaction metrics.

Leadership & Mentoring

Offer mentorship or guidance to junior staff or interns within the business development function.
Where relevant, oversee a small team and aid in onboarding and performance improvements.
