Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a pivotal role in driving growth for Kerala Institute of Digital Education by identifying new business opportunities, increasing enrollments, and contributing to overall institutional goals. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, market understanding, and an ability to execute business plans effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Identify new markets, revenue streams, and opportunities for expansion in the digital education and training sector.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with institutional goals.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to inform planning.

2. Lead Generation & Sales

  • Generate and qualify leads to increase student admissions, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Drive sales/partnership pipelines, from initial outreach to negotiation and closure.
  • Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to align strategies and achieve targets.

3. Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with schools, corporates, industry partners, referral sources, and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for new partners and clients.

4. Market Research & Reporting

  • Conduct research on student needs, competitor programs, and industry trends.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development metrics, market insights, and achievements.

5. Events & Outreach

  • Represent K-IDE at educational fairs, seminars, webinars, and networking events.
  • Plan and execute outreach initiatives and promotional activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or related field (MBA/Master’s preferable).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or institutional partnerships (preferably in education or training sector).
  • Strong understanding of the digital education landscape and enrolment growth strategies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to analyze market trends.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with partners and clients.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as cross-functionally.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Growth in student enrolments and lead conversions
  • Number and quality of strategic partnerships
  • Achievement of revenue and outreach targets
  • Effectiveness of market research insights and strategy execution
