Department: Business Development, L&T Electronic Product & Systems (L&T EPS) Reports to: ESDM Business Head Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Head - ESDM to lead the customer acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth initiatives for our Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) business. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, shaping go-to-market strategies and collaborating closely with operations and design teams to deliver best-in-class solutions. This individual will play a key role in scaling the ESDM business under the guidance of the ESDM Business Head. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Growth Strategy Develop and implement growth strategies to expand the ESDM customer base across industrial, automotive, energy, A&D and emerging sectors. Identify, evaluate, and convert new business opportunities including contract manufacturing, box builds and design-to-manufacture (D2M) models. Define and execute the go-to-market plan aligned with L&T EPSs broader vision. Client Engagement & Key Accounts Establish and manage strong relationships directly and via LTTS with key domestic and international clients, OEMs and startups. Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic customers-understanding technical requirements, pricing models and long-term roadmaps. Lead bid management, proposal creation, and commercial negotiations to close deals profitably. Market Intelligence & Positioning Conduct market mapping, competitor analysis, and trend monitoring in the electronics manufacturing and design services space. Participate in industry forums, exhibitions and conferences to position L&T EPS as a trusted ESDM partner. Develop thought leadership and visibility in target market segments. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate closely with ESDM Operations, NPI, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and project execution. Facilitate joint reviews with customers and internal teams for demand forecasting, delivery planning and quality alignment. Provide inputs for capacity planning and technology investments based on market trends and customer needs. Revenue, Cash and Pipeline Management Drive sales targets, revenue & collection goals, and margin improvement for the ESDM vertical. Maintain a healthy pipeline of leads, opportunities, and account expansions using CRM tools. Track key KPIs such as order booking, customer retention and conversion rates. Leadership & Team Development Build and mentor a small BD and marketing team focused on electronics manufacturing services. Foster a culture of proactive engagement, customer-first mindset, and solution-oriented selling. Support branding, marketing collateral development and customer presentations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related fields. MBA will be highly valuable. 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in ESDM, EMS or related electronics manufacturing domains. Strong understanding of contract manufacturing, PCBAs, SMT, THT and box build solutions. Proven track record in winning B2B deals and developing strategic client relationships. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Familiarity with CRM, proposal management and sales reporting tools.
