About the Role:

Business Development Executive/Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Bidding

  • Drive business growth through strategic bidding and proposal writing on

    Upwork

    , with a primary focus on

    Digital Marketing services

    (SEO, PPC, Social Media, etc.).
  • Manage the complete bidding cycle from opportunity identification to closing the deal.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups, negotiate contracts, and maintain a high proposal conversion rate.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and engage with potential international clients (US, UK, Australia preferred).
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Understand client pain points and recommend suitable digital marketing solutions.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Development Executives/Representatives.
  • Set sales targets, monitor progress, and ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and development sessions.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Design and implement sales strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, design, technical) to align client needs with deliverables.
  • Track sales performance and adjust strategies based on data insights.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and generate weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Analyze market trends, client feedback, and competitor strategies to refine outreach tactics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2 to 7 years of proven experience in Business Development in the Digital Marketing industry.
  • Must have hands-on experience in bidding and closing projects on Upwork.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing services (SEO, PPC, Social Media, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience in leading and managing sales teams.
  • Energetic, persuasive, and goal-oriented with strong decision-making ability.
  • Strong time management and multitasking capabilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in handling international clients, especially from

    US, UK, or Australia

  • Exposure to other freelancing platforms like Freelancer, Fiverr, or Guru.
