Job Description

We are Hiring Blasting Engineer / Shot Firer
Location: Tamnar, near Raigarh, Chhattisgarh
Key Responsibilities:
Drilling & Blasting Operations

  • Plan and supervise drilling and blasting activities in coordination with mine planning engineers.
  • Design blast patterns based on strata, bench height, burden, spacing, and fragmentation needs.
  • Ensure safe charging, stemming, and execution of blasts as per standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and control vibration, fly rock, and air overpressure.
  • Supervise explosive storage, transportation, and usage as per statutory norms.

Explosive Management & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of explosives, detonators, and blasting accessories.
  • Oversee operation and security of licensed explosive magazines.
  • Prepare statutory reports including Daily Blasting Reports, Consumption Registers, and Misfire Logs.
  • Submit reports to Mines Manager, Safety Officer, and DGMS as required.

Safety Management

  • Implement and monitor all blasting time signals (Warning, Blasting, All-Clear).
  • Establish safety exclusion zones and ensure PPE compliance during blasting.
  • Investigate misfires in line with CMR 2017 and DGMS guidelines.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and training for drilling and blasting teams.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 (Reg. 95–108), Explosives Act, 1884, and DGMS circulars.
  • Support statutory inspections, safety audits, and compliance reviews.

Performance & Optimization

  • Analyze post-blast results to evaluate fragmentation, throw, and muck pile formation.
  • Recommend improvements in blast design for higher efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with geologists and mine planners for strata-based design adjustments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Blaster’s Certificate of Competency (Coal) issued by DGMS (Mandatory).
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in coal mine drilling and blasting operations.
  • Strong knowledge of CMR 2017, DGMS guidelines, and Explosives Act.
  • Excellent documentation, safety awareness, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in modern blasting tools, detonators, and safety technologies.
  • Leadership ability to guide teams in safe and efficient blasting practices.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site position involving both office and field supervision.
  • Requires close coordination with mine planning, safety, and operations teams.
  • High focus on safety, compliance, and real-time field monitoring.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,700,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
