Role Overview

BIM Information Manager (Coordination & Stakeholder Management)


Key Responsibilities

1. BIM Information Management

  • Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Delivery Plans (MIDP/TIDP), and model delivery schedules.
  • Implement and monitor information requirements defined by the client (EIR/OIR/AIR).
  • Ensure all stakeholders follow project BIM protocols, naming conventions, and data workflows.
  • Maintain and oversee the Common Data Environment (CDE) ensuring proper file management, metadata quality, and audit trails.

2. Stakeholder & Client Coordination

  • Act as the

    primary BIM interface

    between the project team and the client.
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings, progress reviews, and information delivery workshops with all stakeholders.
  • Interpret client BIM requirements and communicate expectations clearly to design teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Support client-side decision-making by providing clear technical explanations, model insights, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure all parties meet contractual BIM obligations and resolve conflicts or misunderstandings promptly.

3. Cross-Discipline Model Coordination

  • Set up, maintain, and audit federated models for coordination across architecture, structure, MEP, and specialist systems.
  • Conduct clash detection, issue tracking, and model quality checks using tools like Navisworks, Solibri, or BIM Collaborate.
  • Manage design coordination workflows and ensure timely resolution of clashes and design inconsistencies.
  • Prepare coordination reports, issue logs, and action lists for distribution to all disciplines.

4. Information Quality Assurance

  • Review and approve all digital deliverables (models, drawings, data sheets, COBie) prior to submission.
  • Monitor adherence to ISO 19650, project BIM standards, and client information requirements.
  • Carry out model audits to ensure geometry accuracy, data completeness, and correct object classification.

5. Digital Workflow & Platform Management

  • Manage BIM platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360.
  • Support project teams in resolving technical issues related to BIM tools and data workflows.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration, document control, and version management within the CDE.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide weekly/monthly BIM progress reports to project leadership and the client.
  • Document decisions, changes, risks, and dependencies related to information management.
  • Maintain transparent communication logs and coordination trackers.

7. Training & Continuous Support

  • Conduct training sessions for team members and subcontractors on BIM protocols and CDE use.
  • Support adoption of digital collaboration tools and model-checking methods.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and best practices in BIM processes.

  • Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
    • 4–10 years of experience in BIM coordination, BIM management, or information management roles.
    • Strong practical understanding of ISO 19650 information workflows.
    • Proven experience managing BIM coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Experience leading client-facing BIM meetings with excellent communication skills.

    Preferred

    • Certifications: BIM Manager, ISO 19650 Practitioner, or similar.
    • Experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
    • Advanced knowledge of Revit, Navisworks Manage, Solibri, and cloud-based CDE platforms.
    • Understanding of asset information requirements (COBie, AIM, digital handover).
