BIM Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

Model Creation and Management

• Develop detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure using BIM software like Revit, Navisworks, or ArchiCAD.
• Update and maintain models to reflect design changes and project progress.

Coordination and Collaboration

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate design elements.
• Ensure coordination across disciplines (structural, architectural, MEP) to identify and resolve conflicts (clash detection).

Clash Detection and Conflict Resolution

• Perform clash detection using software like Navisworks or BIM 360 to identify overlapping or conflicting elements in the model.
• Propose solutions and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.

Documentation and Compliance of Standards

• Prepare and manage detailed construction documentation, including drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Ensure models comply with industry standards, project-specific requirements, and BIM protocols (e.g., ISO 19650).

Project Planning and Simulation

• Use BIM tools to simulate construction sequences and timelines (4D BIM).
• Assist in quantity take-offs and cost estimation (5D BIM).

Data Management

• Manage and organize BIM data to ensure accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders.
• Implement naming conventions, file structures, and data standards.

Training and Support

• Train and support team members in using BIM tools and workflows.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and best practices to improve processes.

Sustainability and Analysis

• Conduct performance analyses, such as energy efficiency, lighting, and ventilation simulations, to support sustainable design.
• Integrate green building standards into the model (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).

Continuous Learning and Development

• Review and validate models for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design intent.
• Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Building and Development

• Foster a collaborative team environment to enhance creativity and productivity.
• Mentor junior designers and provide training on tools, materials, and design principles.
• Organize regular team meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote skill development.
• Encourage feedback, recognize individual contributions, and address team challenges effectively
