Automation Engineer - Entry Level

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry Level Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is focused on leveraging automation techniques, particularly within cloud environments, to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure system reliability. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cloud platforms and be proficient in Python and SQL.
What you will do

• Contribute as a DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation

• Be a champion for DevOps principles and culture change

• Be responsible for working on building, automating, and supporting application and infrastructure deployment services that target Equifax’s Public Cloud Environments.

• Design and implement monitoring and self-healing processes

• Identify and Implement Process Improvements and documentation

• Design and implement orchestration/workflows that integrate multiple services to provide self-service fully automated services.

• Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model

• Configuration and change management

• Develop and document operations run books

• Lead and develop team from a technical and managerial perspective

• Participate in and provide feedback on systems engineering and design

• Provide input on the future execution of the delivery and management of environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resilience

• Develop, test, and deploy automation scripts and solutions using Python to manage and provision cloud resources.

• Write and optimize SQL queries to interact with databases for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting related to automated processes.
  

What experience you need

• BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required

• Understanding of tracking project costs, schedules, scope, and risk, with appropriate reporting of status and variance.

• Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Confluence and JIRA

• Experience with scripting tools

• Excellent verbal, written and ‘attention to detail’ skills

• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

• Strong interpersonal and time management skills

• A basic understanding of infrastructure and application components

• A sound understanding of SDLC Methodologies including Scrum and Agile Principles

• Ability and desire to work with people all over the world, with the probability of a varying work schedule to accommodate different time zones

• Proven proficiency in Python for scripting and automation purposes.

• Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  

What could set you apart

• Experience using tools/technologies to develop infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet

• Experience using or integrating CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitHub, Sonar, Nexus

• Experience designing/developing Policy as Code

• Software development experience in 2 or languages

• Experience in system administration for OS (Linux, Windows) and/or middleware (web servers, application servers, database, etc)

• Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment or transforming applications from on-premise data centers to public cloud

• Experience with one or more Public Cloud Providers (Google, Amazon, Azure)
