What you will do
In this vital role as an Associate IS Business Systems Analyst in the Enterprise Architecture Software Asset Management team, you will play a supporting role in managing and maintaining Amgens software assets.
Youll work closely with the Software Asset Manager and multi-functional teams to help ensure accurate tracking, compliance, and optimization of Amgens software portfolio. Your work will support operational excellence through license tracking, entitlement updates, and usage analysis.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day software asset management activities such as entitlement entry, software request tracking, and data validation.

Enter and maintain software license data in ServiceNow, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Assist with software usage and entitlement reconciliation to help identify license gaps or optimization opportunities.

Provide basic guidance to end users on software request procedures and licensing rules.

Generate and maintain reports using Excel and ServiceNow to support trend analysis and planning.

Help coordinate vendor communications for license documentation and invoice collection.

Draft internal knowledge articles and communications to support end-user awareness and compliance.

Assist in reviewing the accuracy of software models, entitlements, and contracts in the asset management repository.

Participate in governance and audit preparation efforts under the direction of senior team members.

Support collection and analysis of targets and metrics related to software licensing and compliance.
What we expect of you
Must-Have Skills
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or a similar IT asset management tool or tracking tool (e.g., entering entitlements, updating records).

Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliation, tracking, and reporting (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formatting).

Basic knowledge of software licensing concepts, models (e.g., user-based, device-based), and usage rights.

Foundational understanding of the software request and procurement lifecycle, including renewals and approvals.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal collaborators.

Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain data accuracy across systems.

Ability to follow standard operating procedures and bring up issues appropriately.
Good-to-Have Skills:

Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or similar industry-recognized SAM certification.

Experience assisting with vendor interactions (e.g., obtaining quotes, license documentation, purchase tracking).

Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., internal audits, SOX, software license compliance reviews).

Experience with targets and reporting in software asset management dashboards or reports.

Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow request workflows, incident tracking).

Exposure to Agile environments or working in multi-functional collaborative teams (e.g., Teams, Lucid).

Basic understanding of contract terms and software procurement documentation (e.g., entitlements, agreements).

Experience reconciling discovered software vs. entitlements.
