We are looking to hire an Associate Director - Corporate Communications, who will be responsible for leading the strategic communications function for JioStar s Sports vertical. This role will focus on developing and driving communication strategies that enhance JioStar s brand reputation in the sports ecosystem, support key business priorities, and ensure alignment with the overall corporate narrative.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of business communication, stakeholder engagement and brand positioning in the sports domain. This role entails leadership position, overseeing the strategic direction and coordination of communication initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies. The role will also cover government policy comms and anti-piracy comms initiatives, ensuring strategic messaging, influencing key opinion leaders and proactive reputation management in these area.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Sports vertical aligned with JioStar s corporate goals and mission.
- Create strategic communication frameworks, briefing books/ messaging documents for key announcements and thought leadership.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communication opportunities, challenges, and narrative development.
- Crisis management
- Partner with the leadership team to articulate and communicate the business s strategic priorities, thought leadership, and impact in the sports industry.
- Develop and oversee executive communication materials, including speeches, leadership messages, and talking points for key events.
Coordination with Publicity & PR Teams
- Oversee and guide the publicity team/agency on key announcements, events, and media initiatives.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with the broader corporate communication framework.
- Review and approve communication materials to maintain strategic and brand coherence.
Government Policy and Anti-piracy comms
- Develop and oversee communication strategies related to government policy matters for JioStar.
- Collaborate with internal government affairs and regulatory teams to craft clear, credible communication materials for media.
- Monitor developments in policy, regulation, and sports governance to anticipate communication needs.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to support and amplify anti-piracy raids and related initiatives.
- Drive proactive messaging to reinforce JioStar s commitment to content protection and integrity.
- Manage strategic communication on piracy incidents or enforcement actions to protect brand reputation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 12-15 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or strategic brand communications, preferably in large conglomerates, sports, or media sectors. Experience in sports communications will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business objectives into communication goals.
- Experience in managing senior stakeholder expectations and cross-functional collaboration.
