3 7 Years (Solar EPC Ground Mounted Preferred) Reporting To : DGM Projects Purpose of the Role We are consistently facing quality and workmanship issues during the internal HOTO (Handing Over and Taking Over) between the Execution and O&M teams. These include: Skipped minor works Issue of workmanship in civil and mechanical installations Incomplete documentation and snag closures Repeated escalations from O&M teams post-HOTO To permanently close this quality gap, I propose hiring a dedicated QA/QC Engineer who will act as a single-point quality gatekeeper for our solar EPC projects especially during the pre-HOTO and final quality audit stage. Key Responsibilities Pre-Handover Quality Control Conduct full site inspection and final quality audit before internal HOTO. Use structured HOTO checklist to catch skipped works, poor finishes, and missing items. Prepare snag lists and ensure 100% rectification before handover to O&M. Periodic QA/QC Oversight Check installation quality MMS, module torque, cabling, trenching, fencing, etc. Enforce quality checkpoints across civil, mechanical, and electrical works. Raise NCRs, punch points and follow through till resolution. Documentation & Compliance Maintain test reports, inspection logs, and QA documentation per project. Ensure submission of quality dossiers along with commissioning files to O&M. Cross-Team Coordination Coordinate closely with Site Incharge, Cluster Manager, and O&M team. Ensure that handovers are clean, compliant, and defect-free along with audit (planned vs actual) Key Skills Required Strong knowledge of quality norms (MNRE, IS, IEC standards) Hands-on experience with QA/QC inspection tools (IR tester, IV curve, torque wrench) Sharp eye for details, structured working style, and strong follow-up capability Familiar with HOTO processes and site documentation protocols Justification for Role Creation This engineer will act as the final QA filter ensuring: Execution team doesn t leave behind quality gaps O&M receives clean, issue-free sites Our brand and plant performance are protected from post-HOTO quality complaints Requesting approval to proceed with hiring for this critical quality role in EPC. Lead and manage the execution of large-scale industrial ground-mounted solar EPC projects from start to finish. Collaborate with internal teams such as design, procurement, and construction to ensure the seamless flow of project activities. Develop, track, and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all milestones are met on time and within budget. Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and provide input for project planning and execution strategies. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations on-site. Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, particularly related to safety and quality. Monitor day-to-day construction activities to ensure adherence to technical drawings, engineering designs, and project timelines. Troubleshoot any issues related to project execution, providing timely resolutions to avoid delays. Manage and supervise on-site manpower, ensuring proper allocation of resources such as labor, materials, and equipment. Prepare regular progress reports for management, including updates on costs, timelines, and project performance. Ensure all project-related documentation is properly maintained, including contracts, permits, reports, and project records. Oversee quality control processes, ensuring that project deliverables meet all standards and client expectations. Conduct risk assessments, implementing corrective measures where necessary to maintain project efficiency and safety. Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders, both internal and external, to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions. Ensure all commissioning and handover activities are completed successfully, including testing and certification of systems. Requirement :- B. E (Mech) or B. Lead the process for obtaining necessary approvals from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for solar and renewable energy projects, particularly in Gandhinagar. Maintain relationships with GEDA officials and ensure that all documentation, applications, and supporting materials are in line with agency requirements. Ensure timely submissions and follow-ups for the approval process to avoid project delays. 2. Chief Electrical Engineer (CEE) Approval Oversee and coordinate approval work from the office of the Chief Electrical Engineer (CEE) at Gandhinagar for various solar projects. Ensure that all compliance standards and safety regulations are adhered to during the approval process. Maintain regular communication with the CEE s office to facilitate smooth and timely approval. 3. GETCO Approval Process Handle all required approvals from the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. (GETCO) for ground-mounted and industrial solar projects. Ensure that applications are accurately prepared, complete, and submitted to GETCO s office in Vadodara. Collaborate with GETCO officials to resolve any issues or discrepancies during the approval process. 4. DISCOM Liaisoning Liaise with DISCOMs across Gujarat, including UGVCL, DGVCL, MGVCL, and PGVCL, for obtaining the necessary approvals for solar projects. Stay updated on DISCOM regulations, policies, and procedures that may impact project approvals. Work proactively to address any concerns raised by DISCOM officials and ensure compliance with regional electricity distribution standards. 5. Ground-Mounted Project Support Provide full support for ground-mounted solar projects, ensuring that all regulatory and approval processes are completed efficiently. Oversee tertiary tasks associated with these projects, including liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination. Support project teams in meeting deadlines and addressing any unforeseen challenges that may arise during the regulatory process. 6. Documentation and Compliance Ensure all regulatory documentation is maintained and updated as per the latest legal and governmental standards. Prepare and present regular reports on the status of approvals and any challenges encountered, along with mitigation plans.
