Associate Dean, International (Faculty of Medicine & Health)
- Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
- Duration: 5-Year Fixed Term (a reversionary continuing position in a relevant position may be offered to a suitably qualified applicant)
- Remuneration: Academic Level D – E, depending on experience ($185k - $237k base, plus 17% superannuation, leave loading); plus clinical loading where applicable.
- Location: Health Translation Hub, UNSW Kensington, Sydney

Why this role matters
The Associate Dean, International (ADI) is a Faculty leadership role that will support the Faculty of Medicine and Health’s strategic response to global engagement and external education.The role will report to the Deputy Dean Global Engagement and External Education (DDGEEE), currently Professor Rebecca Ivers ,and support operational responsibilities of the Faculty’s international engagement and external education including offshore international campus activities and life long learning (Domestic and international) particularly in priority countries.The ADI work closely with the Future student team of UNSW, DVC Global and team, Faculty leadership including Dean, Deputy Deans, other Associate Deans, Heads of School,
Key Skills Required
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- A strong track record in health education (award and non-award) activities at an academic Level D/E role within a medicine and health faculty at a University
- Strong track record in successfully building relationships in an international context, particularly in India and South East Asia.
- Evidence of academic vision and understanding of the diversity and complexity of international environments.
- Evidence of international leadership, planning and strong communication skills.
- Capacity to build and maintain effective collaborative partnerships within and external to the Faculty to support the mission and objectives of the Faculty and University.
- An appreciation of the values and roles of a major research and education university operating in an international context.
- A demonstrated capacity to represent the Faculty through sophisticated negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, risk and complexity with a sense of fairness and ethics.
