Role Overview:

Assistant Vice President – Specialty Insurance (London Market)

This is a niche leadership position responsible for overseeing end-to-end Finance & Accounting (F&A), Underwriting Support (UWS), and Claims operations for a global Specialty Property & Casualty Re/Insurance provider with a presence across the UK (including London Market), Europe, Bermuda, the US, and Latin America.

You will manage a large span of ~250 professionals across functions including RI UWS, Insurance UWS, Delegated Authority, Claims, R2R, I2C, P2P, FP&A, Tax, and Statutory Reporting for both Assumed and Ceded operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional leadership across Insurance and Reinsurance operations, with deep expertise in London Market processes.
  • Deliver value through business transformation, automation, and analytics initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth, predictable, and outcome-focused operations with zero surprises to clients.
  • Own and manage relationships with senior client stakeholders, including CXO-level engagement.
  • Lead service delivery across all F&A and UWS functions, ensuring performance against SLAs/KPIs.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team while enabling strong career development pathways.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Operations, HR, Transitions, Transformation, Digital, and Compliance.
  • Support the end-to-end lifecycle of new business – from solutioning and pricing to transition and stabilization.
  • Leverage Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies for continuous performance improvement.
  • Take ownership of client delivery governance and full P&L accountability

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive leadership experience in managing outsourced Insurance and F&A operations.
  • Hands-on experience with underwriting and reinsurance operations (RI/Insurance UWS).
  • Strong expertise in P&L management, client relationship handling, and growth strategy.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large teams (150–250+).
  • Experience with complex transitions and ramp-ups in a global delivery environment.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and strategic transformation initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Graduate/Postgraduate from a top-tier commerce/finance institution.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4–5 years in large-scale F&A and insurance delivery leadership.
  • Understanding of London Market insurance operations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with new-age technologies such as Gen AI and data analytics in the insurance domain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead internal and external stakeholder conversations.

What does it take to lead the future of specialty insurance operations across some of the most complex and regulated markets in the world — not from the sidelines, but from the front?
