Job Description

The Assistant Retail Store Manager plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, delivering outstanding customer service, managing inventory and orders, overseeing grooming appointments, and ensuring a smooth omni-channel experience including in-store and online orders. The role involves leading by example, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and driving overall store performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with pet parents.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and services.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels and assist in timely ordering of inventory to ensure availability of key products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for procurement and replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and conduct periodic audits.

Visual Merchandising

  • Ensure in-store displays are clean, organized, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Rotate stock and update displays according to promotions or seasonal campaigns.

Grooming Spa Coordination

  • Manage spa appointment schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Coordinate with groomers and communicate with customers about services and follow-ups.

Order Fulfillment

  • Process home delivery and online orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely packing and dispatch of products to meet customer expectations.

Team Support & Training

  • Support staff training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Step into leadership in the Store Manager’s absence and motivate the team to achieve targets.

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in retail or pet care industry (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for pets and understanding of pet products/services.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory software and POS systems.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
