Assistant Professor – Computer Applications

Reporting To:

Head of Department (Computer Applications) / Principal

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academic Delivery

• Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate classes in Computer Applications and related subjects (e.g., Programming, Database Management, AI & ML, Web Development, Networking, etc.).
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and e-learning resources to enhance student learning.
• Guide students in projects, internships, and research work.

Research & Publications

• Engage in academic research and publish in reputed journals/conferences.
• Apply for funded research projects and contribute to the department’s academic growth.

Curriculum Development

• Participate in curriculum design and updates as per AICTE/UGC/University norms and emerging industry trends.
• Integrate innovative teaching methodologies like AI tools, AR/VR, and blended learning approaches.

Student Mentoring & Evaluation

• Provide academic and career guidance to students.
• Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and viva-voce as per university guidelines.

Institutional Development

• Support departmental activities like seminars, workshops, placement drives, and faculty development programs.
• Collaborate with industry partners for guest lectures, internships, and placements.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain academic records, attendance, and compliance with institutional policies.
• Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification:

• Master’s Degree (MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science or equivalent) with minimum 55% marks.
• Ph.D. in Computer Science / Applications (preferred or as per UGC norms).

• Experience:

• 0–3 years for entry-level; candidates with teaching/research/industry experience will be preferred.

• Technical Expertise:

• Programming Languages: C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.
• Databases: MySQL, Oracle, etc.
• Knowledge of AI/ML, Cloud Computing, and Data Science will be an added advantage.

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong academic orientation and research mindset.
• Ability to mentor and motivate students.
