Job Summary

The Assistant Professor in the School of IT will contribute to the institution's teaching, research, and academic development goals. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction in IT-related courses, mentoring students, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to curriculum innovation and departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academics

  • Deliver lectures, lab sessions, and tutorials in core areas of Computer Science/Information Technology (e.g., Programming, Data Structures, Web Development, AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, etc.).
  • Develop course materials, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with university standards.
  • Mentor and guide students on academic and career goals, including project work and internships.
  • Implement innovative teaching methods (including blended and experiential learning) to enhance student engagement and outcomes.

Research & Publications

  • Undertake high-quality research individually and in collaboration with faculty or industry.
  • Publish research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals, conferences, or book chapters.
  • Participate in research projects, consultancy, and interdisciplinary initiatives.

Institutional Development

  • Support accreditation and quality assurance processes (NAAC, NBA, NIRF, etc.).
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and curriculum review exercises.
  • Assist in organizing academic events, workshops, and guest lectures.
  • Contribute to student clubs, hackathons, competitions, and co-curricular activities.

Administrative & Outreach

  • Participate in academic audits, documentation, and student evaluation processes.
  • Coordinate with industry partners for internships, placements, and guest sessions.
  • Represent the department at academic fairs, seminars, and community engagement programs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Master’s degree (M.Tech/M.E) in Computer Science/IT or allied areas from a recognized university.
    • Preference for candidates with Ph.D. or enrolled in a Ph.D. program as per UGC norms.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1–3 years of teaching or relevant experience.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong subject knowledge and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with learning management systems and digital teaching tools.
    • Ability to mentor and motivate students.
    • Commitment to academic integrity and continuous improvement.
