Assistant Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with experience in supervising kitchen operations within a restaurant or hotel environment. This role is essential in supporting the management team to ensure efficient food production, maintain high standards of service, and foster a positive working atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
• Participate in food preparation and cooking as needed, demonstrating culinary skills and techniques.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Implement training programmes for new staff members on food production processes and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal availability.
• Address any customer feedback or concerns promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong leadership qualities with experience in team management and development.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with team members and customers.
