About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Transportation to oversee and manage day-to-day transportation operations. The role will involve managing both company-owned and market vehicles, ensuring seamless delivery operations, and building strong customer relationships. Candidates with prior experience in cold chain transportation/logistics will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate transportation activities for own fleet and market vehicles.
• Conduct customer meetings to understand requirements, address concerns, and build long-term partnerships.
• Monitor vehicle utilization, delivery schedules, route planning, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors and market vehicle providers for timely and cost-effective arrangements.
• Supervise fleet maintenance, fuel management, driver discipline, and compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to cold chain compliance and temperature-controlled transport requirements.
• Track KPIs and generate regular MIS reports for management review.
• Drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Resolve transportation-related escalations quickly and effectively.
• Conduct regular sales calls and work towards achieving monthly targets.
• Follow up with customers on payments and ensure timely collections.

Requirements

• Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
• 4–6 years of experience in transportation/logistics operations, with at least part of it in cold chain logistics.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of transport compliance, fleet management, and cold chain requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer-handling skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and transport management software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
