Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Planning

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and organizational goals.
  • Forecast material requirements based on project schedules and consumption patterns.
  • Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, transformers, BOS components, and other project materials.
  • Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Sourcing & Negotiation

  • Lead price negotiations, finalize payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual terms to ensure optimal cost, quality, and service levels.
  • Evaluate competitive quotations and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Inventory & Logistics Coordination

  • Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and project execution teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure timely material replenishment, monitor lead times, and resolve supply bottlenecks.
  • Purchase Order (PO) Management

  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders; ensure timely internal approvals and supplier acknowledgments.
  • Monitor order progress and ensure timely dispatches and deliveries.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, regulatory guidelines, GST norms, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for material inspection and compliance checks.
  • Documentation, Reporting & Audits

  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation including contracts, PO records, invoices, and delivery reports.
  • Generate periodic MIS reports on procurement status, cost analysis, vendor performance, and savings achieved.
  • Support internal and external audits with complete documentation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with engineering, design, finance, and project management teams for material specifications, budgets, and payment processing.
  • Ensure smooth operational flow across departments.
  • Market Intelligence

  • Stay updated on industry developments, price trends, emerging technologies, and supplier innovations in solar components.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities affecting procurement decisions.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in engineering

    Supply Chain Management

    related field (MBA preferred)

  • 5-6 years

    of experience in

    procurement or purchase

    , preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar components, procurement cycles, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of GST, import/export norms, contractual terms, and relevant government regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
