With a presence across Animal Feed, Crop Protection, Oil Palm, Dairy, and Poultry, GAVLs Animal Feed business produces over a million tonnes annually. The division offers high-quality cattle, broiler, and layer feed supported by tech-enabled manufacturing plants and strong R&D capabilities.

Key Responsibilities -

1. Sourcing & Procurement

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of agri-commodities, animal and vegetable proteins, and feed ingredients.
  • Plan and procure spares/consumables in coordination with Production and Stores.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term buying strategies to address demandsupply gaps.
  • Identify and onboard new vendors to improve cost, quality, and supply security.
  • Create purchase orders, ensure delivery follow-ups, and manage all Procure-to-Pay processes.

2. Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct on-ground crop surveys through travel to source markets and farmer interactions.
  • Track domestic and global commodity trends, price movements, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Travel extensively for vendor development, crop assessment, and market intelligence.

3. Technology & Digital

  • Leverage ERP tools (SAP MM preferred) for procurement operations and analytics.
  • Use e-auction platforms, digital sourcing tools, and mobile apps for competitive buying.
  • Build dashboards for commodity tracking, supplier performance, and inventory.
  • Contribute to digital transformation and automation of procurement MIS.

4. Logistics & Imports

  • Manage inbound logistics to ensure timely material delivery at optimal cost.
  • Handle import operations, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply cost-reduction tools and techniques across logistics and freight.

5. Supplier Relationship Management

  • Conduct supplier visits and audits to ensure quality, compliance, and performance.
  • Lead supplier performance management initiatives and drive long-term partnerships.
  • Strengthen vendor base through strategic onboarding and capability building.

6. Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with production, supply chain, QA, finance, and category teams.
  • Achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Maintain strong compliance with value systems, internal controls, and reporting norms.

Required qualifications -

  • Minimum 5+ years

    of relevant experience in agri-commodities, feed, or allied industries.
  • MBA - Agri Business Management

    is a must.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Proven capability in strategic sourcing, market analytics, and import-led procurement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • High willingness to travel across India for supplier visits, surveys, and market intelligence.
