Assistant Manager - Plastic Injection Molding

Position: Assistant Manager/Sr Engineer – Maintenance
Location: Viramgam, Vani, Gujarat
Reporting To: Manager – Maintenance / Plant Head
Department: Maintenance & Utility

Qualification & Experience

• B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Industry Preference

• Automotive / Auto Ancillary Industry
• Manufacturing background with mandatory experience in Plastic Injection Molding

Role Objective

To support the Maintenance function in ensuring high equipment availability, minimal breakdowns, adherence to preventive maintenance schedules, cost control, energy efficiency, and safety compliance. The role involves hands-on execution, coordination with cross-functional teams, and contributing to plant performance as per business plan targets.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to minimize machine downtime.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring breakdowns.
• Ensure smooth operation of machines, equipment, and utilities in coordination with production teams.
• Optimize utilization of manpower, materials, and spares to reduce repair time.

Planning & Monitoring

• Assist in preparation and execution of PM schedules and ensure adherence to maintenance checklists.
• Monitor daily breakdowns, maintenance KPIs, machine health, and utility performance.
• Support machine fitness checks, daily NC closure, and maintenance documentation.

Cost, Energy & Utility Support

• Assist in monitoring maintenance costs, energy consumption, and utility performance.
• Support initiatives aimed at cost reduction, energy saving, and improvement in overall equipment efficiency.

Safety, Compliance & Audits

• Ensure safe working practices and statutory compliance of machines and utilities.
• Support compliance with ISO, IATF 16949, EMS 14001, and internal/customer audit requirements.
• Assist in audit preparation and closure of non-conformities within defined timelines.

People Coordination & Development

• Supervise technicians and contract manpower during shifts and maintenance activities.
• Support training, skill development, and discipline within the maintenance team.
• Coordinate effectively with production, quality, stores, and external vendors.

Key Skills / Competencies

• Hands-on experience in maintenance of injection molding machines and utilities
• Good knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance systems
• Working knowledge of ISO & IATF 16949 standards
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Cost awareness and basic energy management knowledge
• Effective communication and team coordination abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
