Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations, laws, and internal policies.
• Conduct regular EHS audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections across the plant.
• Drive initiatives for continual improvement in safety performance and environmental sustainability.
• Monitor and manage hazardous waste, chemical handling, emissions, and effluent treatment systems (ETP/STP).
• Develop and deliver training programs on safety practices and emergency response.
• Maintain and update records for legal audits, statutory reporting, and inspections.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with government and regulatory bodies (e.g., GPCB, DISH, Factories Inspectorate) for approvals and reporting.
• Lead fire safety drills, first-aid training, and occupational health programs.
• Support ISO and other third-party audits related to EHS.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Science / Engineering with a Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Technical Board).
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in the chemical or process manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Proficient in preparing EHS documentation and reports.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
