Job Description

  • Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Analyze market trends, forecast future markets, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Implement world-class practices across all distribution centers and drive productivity.
  • Build and sustain collaborative/productive relationships with Unilever customers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to drive costs and efficiencies.
  • Handle end-to-end cost management for the warehouse and close contracts for secondary distribution.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and lead automation projects on warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with the branch team to ensure facilities comply with legislation and standards regarding security, safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.
  • Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services like RT/BOPT/HPT to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Work with the Branch Operations and Controls team to ensure operational SOPs are followed and NCs are resolved within defined timelines, implementing systems to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Plan for future development in line with Strategic Business Objectives and lead/coordinate with teams as required to cover various areas of responsibility.
  • Proven project management, budget, and financial control is essential.
  • Improve space/handling productivity through innovation/automation.
  • Negotiate end-to-end costs for secondary distribution and co-create/implement procurement strategies for your portfolio.
  • Work closely with Internal Operations team and External Supply Partners to drive key initiatives, troubleshooting supply chain issues (e.g., crisis management).
  • Identify and implement tools and processes to optimize sourcing practices, closing contracts with suppliers using global practices.
  • Work on closure of USQS audit and lead savings/budgeting exercises.
  • Key contacts include: Unilever Logistics Procurement and Excellence Teams, Unilever Warehouse Solution design team, Unilever Market Customer Operations Teams, Unilever Finance Teams, Unilever IT Teams, Suppliers, Travel. The role may involve domestic travel for up to 10% of the year.
