About Medhavi Skills University:
Medhavi Skills University (MSU) is a government notified and UGC, DGT & NSDC recognized Skills University of North East India, which has been established with the passage of the Medhavi Skills University Act 2021 by the Sikkim State Government. MSU is promoted by a group of IIT / IIM Alumni with a vision to bring convergence of the skilling ecosystem with the higher education tracks by promoting in-demand Skill Integrated Higher Education linked to Employability and career progression. MSU is the first of its kind pioneering university model where corporates/
industries are the stakeholders and influencers in curriculum design, programme delivery and for providing practical skills training via on-the-job
training opportunities.

Overview of the Role:
We are looking for an experienced candidate with good hands-on experience in handling HR functions of administration, recruitment , operations, compliance and to join our university. The role involves close coordination with academic and administrative departments to ensure the university’s HR functions are smooth, compliant and people-focused.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for smooth hiring.
  • Organize and lead structured orientation and onboarding for new employees.
  • Staying updated about hiring trends and best practices.
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Implementing HR strategies and processes aligned with the overall vision of the University.
  • Proactively maintaining the work culture and discipline.
  • Plan and execute monthly/quarterly employee engagement initiatives.
  • Design and implement initiatives to boost employee morale and engagement.
  • Coordinate with departments to identify training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HR laws, regulations , University norms and policies.
  • Assist in managing HRMS and employee database updates.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment, including overseeing workplace safety programs.
  • Assist and coordinate with the HR Manager for smooth operations and development of the department.

Key Competencies:
  • A self motivated and people -centred individual with a drive to excel.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the local language of Sikkim is preferable.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in HRMS tools and MS Office Suite.

Qualification
  • Any Graduation/Masters in Human Resources or a degree in relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in HR domain in industry or in edutech. (University experience will be preferred)
