Job Description: Assistant HR Manager – Food Industry

Location: Tripunithura
Department: Human ResourcesReports To: CEO / GM

Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Assistant HR Manager to support the HR department in daily operations within the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of human resource functions such as recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance, along with awareness of industry-specific requirements related to food processing and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in recruitment, selection, and on-boarding of employees across production, quality, and marketing departments.

· Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and statutory labor regulations.

· Coordinate attendance, payroll inputs, and leave management systems.

· Support employee training programs related to food safety, hygiene, and workplace discipline.

· Handle staff grievances and employee engagement activities.

· Assist in preparing HR reports, performance evaluations, and manpower planning.

· Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food industry compliance standards in cooperation with the QA department.

· Support HR Manager in policy implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.

· 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in the food processing or FMCG sector.

· Basic knowledge of HR operations including recruitment, payroll, employee engagement, and compliance.

· Familiarity with labor laws, safety regulations, and food industry workforce practices.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRMS software.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

· Positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Strong coordination skills between HR, production, and management teams.

· Initiative-driven with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Willingness to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
