Job Description

Assistant General Manager Operations Head

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Operational Management

  • Ensure profitable delivery of operations and achieve business targets related to GOP, EBITA, and debtors.
  • Control operational costs, overheads, and drive financial sustainability.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and procedures.

Sales & Business Expansion

  • Drive revenue growth and improve margins across operations.
  • Support new business development by contributing to costing, proposals, tenders, and service promotion.

Manpower Management

  • Oversee recruitment of frontline staff to avoid manpower shortages at client sites.
  • Prevent revenue loss by ensuring adequate staffing and timely replacements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple client levels and business units.
  • Understand client hierarchy and strategic goals to ensure aligned service delivery.
  • Implement the Client For Life process to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations as per client agreements.

Compliance, Quality & Safety

  • Ensure services meet high-quality standards that prioritize employee safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Promote ethical practices and support company-driven sustainability initiatives.

Team Leadership & HR Support

  • Implement HR policies related to hiring, internal promotions, succession planning, performance development, and remuneration.
  • Mentor, manage, and support Business Development and Operations teams.

Technology & Resource Optimization

  • Utilize company IT and technology resources effectively.
  • Reduce operational costs through disciplined operational initiatives and synergy creation.

Reporting & Financial Control

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the VP Operations / Regional Head.
  • Recover overdue payments and coordinate closely with the Finance Department to manage vendor and contractor payments.

Market & Competitor Awareness

  • Monitor competitor activities and share relevant insights with leadership.

Industry Representation

  • Represent the company in industry events, seminars, and conferences.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned from time to time.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of senior management experience with proven financial and commercial success.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a contracting or management services environment.
  • Experience handling multi-site and multi-location operations (B2B experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of facility management and resource sectors.
  • Experience working within a multicultural environment and Indian labor framework.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Process-oriented mindset with strong business planning skills.
  • Ability to work long hours in a demanding operational environment.
