Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose

To ensure smooth, safe, and disciplined management of company dormitories/hostels by handling daily operations, maintenance coordination, room allocation, welfare support, and grievance handling for resident employees.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Dormitory Operations Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of company dormitory/hostel.
  • Ensure proper room allocation, shifting, and vacating process.
  • Maintain updated records of occupants, room status, and inventories.
  • Check cleanliness, housekeeping quality, and overall hygiene standards.

B. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company safety, security, and fire-safety norms.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, electrical fittings, etc.
  • Coordinate with Security team for access control and discipline.

C. Employee Welfare & Issue Resolution

  • Handle accommodation-related queries, complaints, and grievances of residents.
  • Ensure peaceful environment with adherence to dormitory rules.
  • Organize orientation for new joiners regarding dormitory rules.

D. Vendor & Maintenance Coordination

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, canteen, transport, and security vendors.
  • Follow up daily on cleaning schedules, repairs, and utilities.
  • Monitor AMC servicespest control, water supply, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Verify vendor attendance, performance, and service quality.

E. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain check-in/out records, occupancy sheets, and discipline logs.
  • Prepare MIS reports: occupancy status, complaints, maintenance tracker, etc.
  • Monitor inventory (beds, mattresses, lockers, linen, etc.) and raise requirements.

F. Cost & Budget Control

  • Monitor resource utilisation and reduce wastage.
  • Support in budgeting for dormitory operations (utility, maintenance, staff).

Preferred candidate profile

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate in any discipline
  • 25 years of experience in hostel/dormitory/guest house/large accommodation management (preferably in manufacturing setup)
  • Ability to work in shifts if required
