Job Summary: The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Design (Metallurgy) will be responsible for leading the design and development of metallurgical tools and components. The role involves conceptualizing, designing, and improving products by applying metallurgical principles and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute design projects related to metallurgical tools and components, ensuring alignment with business goals. Apply metallurgical knowledge to innovate and improve product designs, materials, and processes. Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams for effective product development and troubleshooting. Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and other design software. Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and failure analysis to optimize product performance. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality guidelines. Support process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives through design innovation. Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff. Liaise with suppliers and vendors for sourcing materials and components. Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Metallurgy. 8+ years of relevant experience in design and development in metallurgical or tooling industry. Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, material properties, and failure analysis. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and design tools. Experience in product design lifecycle from concept to production. Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Leadership experience or capability to manage design teams is preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong technical expertise in metallurgy and materials engineering. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
