Assistant Design Manager

As an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Design (Metallurgy), you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of metallurgical tools and components. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing, designing, and enhancing products by applying metallurgical principles and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and execute design projects concerning metallurgical tools and components to ensure they align with business objectives. - Utilize metallurgical knowledge to drive innovation and enhancement in product designs, materials, and processes. - Collaborate effectively with R&D, production, and quality teams for efficient product development and issue resolution. - Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation utilizing CAD and other design software. - Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and failure analysis to optimize product performance. - Ensure adherence to industry standards and company quality guidelines. - Support design innovation to enhance processes and drive cost-reduction initiatives. - Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and design staff. - Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for materials and components sourcing. - Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Metallurgy. - Possess 8+ years of relevant experience in design and development within the metallurgical or tooling industry. - Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, material properties, and failure analysis. - Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and design tools. - Experience in the product design lifecycle from concept to production. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Preferably have leadership experience or the ability to manage design teams effectively.
