Assistant Accountant

Location: [Mohali]
Industry: Nutraceutical Manufacturing
Experience : Min 10 years
Working Days: 6 Days a Week (Monday to Saturday)
Working Hours: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Assist with financial audits, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
• Accounting and Record Keeping:
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and compliance with financial policies.
• Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Tax Compliance:
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist in the formulation of tax strategies and handle tax disputes or inquiries from governmental agencies.
• Budgeting and Cost Management:
• Assist in the budget preparation process, analyzing departmental budgets and making recommendations.
• Monitor spending and participate in financial planning to reduce costs.
• Internal Controls and Compliance:
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to ensure compliance with accounting best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working in a team environment.
