Assistant Accountant

Job Description

Location : [Mohali] Industry : Nutraceutical Manufacturing Working Days : 6 Days a Week (Monday to Saturday) Working Hours : 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Responsibilities: Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct variance analysis and forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to management. Assist with financial audits, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation. Accounting and Record Keeping: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and compliance with financial policies. Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Assist in the formulation of tax strategies and handle tax disputes or inquiries from governmental agencies. Budgeting and Cost Management: Assist in the budget preparation process, analyzing departmental budgets and making recommendations. Monitor spending and participate in financial planning to reduce costs. Internal Controls and Compliance: Implement and monitor internal financial controls to ensure compliance with accounting best practices. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working in a team environment.
