Location: Lagos, Nigeria.


Job Summary:

The Deputy Manager – Asset & Machinery will be responsible for managing the company’s fleet of heavy machinery and construction equipment, ensuring optimal performance, preventive maintenance, and accurate asset tracking. This role requires strong mechanical and asset management expertise, with a focus on maximizing uptime and controlling maintenance costs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery such as JCBs, excavators, cranes, loaders, and other construction equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, service logs, fuel consumption, and spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinate with site teams and vendors for machinery deployment, repairs, and parts procurement.
  • Monitor asset performance, lifecycle cost, and utilization efficiency to ensure optimal ROI.
  • Prepare maintenance budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to cost control measures.
  • Implement asset tracking systems (manual or ERP-based) for better visibility and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards during equipment handling and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of machinery condition and maintenance records.
  • Train operators and maintenance staff on standard operating procedures and preventive measures.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • Experience:

    8–12 years of experience in machinery and asset maintenance within EPC / construction / manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment (JCB, cranes, excavators, etc.) maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in asset management systems, maintenance scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Good understanding of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Excellent coordination, vendor management, and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and statutory compliance.


Preferred Background:

  • Experience working in EPC, power, infrastructure, or industrial project environments.
  • Exposure to fleet or equipment management systems (SAP, ERP, or CMMS).
  • Knowledge of spare parts management and vendor evaluation.
