Area Business Manager – Nutraceuticals

Position Title: Area Business Manager (ABM)

Department: Sales & Marketing

Industry: Nutraceuticals / Health & Wellness

Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Mumbai

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Area Business Manager to lead sales and market development for our nutraceutical product range. The ABM will be responsible for managing a team of front-line sales executives, achieving sales targets, building relationships with healthcare professionals, and ensuring smooth operations in the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

🛒 Sales & Revenue Management

  • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets.
  • Ensure consistent growth of sales volume and market share across key nutraceutical categories.

👥 Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage Medical Representatives (MRs) or Territory Sales Executives.
  • Conduct regular field visits to coach team members, drive productivity, and ensure effective doctor/chemist coverage.

Market Development & Strategy

  • Identify growth opportunities within clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and wellness centers.
  • Drive visibility and penetration of key nutraceutical brands through planned marketing and promotional activities.

🤝 HCP & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors General physicians, Cardiologist, Gynecologists, , nutritionists).
  • Organize and support CMEs, product demos, and patient education initiatives.

Distribution & Inventory

Ensure availability of products through proper stockist/distributor coordination.

Monitor and resolve supply chain issues in a timely manner.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on team performance, sales, and market insights.
  • Ensure team adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Science / Pharmacy / Nutrition; MBA in Marketing is a plus.
  • 4–8 years of field experience in pharmaceutical or nutraceutical sales.
  • Minimum 1–2 years in a managerial or supervisory sales role.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High result-orientation with data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of local healthcare ecosystem and nutraceutical trends.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned area.
