Short Description: We are growing our mobile development team, and are looking for a Senior Android developer who can help us improve our clients Android app's usability, performance and functionality. You will join an existing team of two Senior Android developers. Day to day, you'll move between picking up tickets from the backlog, writing and reviewing code, and collaborating with the team to develop solutions to issues affecting our users. Client Description: Our Client is an open source, private messaging application. They build cutting edge, onion routed and end-to-end encrypted tools to deliver the most secure and user-friendly messaging experience that exists today. Working with our Client involves developing novel solutions to tricky real world problems and working with/on groundbreaking technologies. They are looking for individuals who are excited to drive the next frontier of personal communication technology and user privacy tools. They started developing in 2019 and have reached over 1.2 million monthly active users. Requirements Key Responsibilities: With a minimum of 2 years working experience in a Senior Android Development role. Startup and open source software experience is a plus. Significant experience working on native Android applications written Kotlin Strong experience with both Jetpack Compose and XML-based UI frameworks, including the ability to refactor existing XML layouts into Compose Experience working in a team on large-scale consumer applications Experience diagnosing and resolving ANRs and crashes in production Android applications Key Qualifications: Any significant contributions to open source software on Github A demonstrated passion for building software which preserves user privacy Experience integrating or working on low level networking and cryptography libraries, especially in C or C++ Deep expertise in Android application development, specifically with Kotlin, Java is used in the Session application but to a lesser degree.
