AGM - Legal

Experience : 12 -15 Yrs

Age : 30 40 Yrs

Industry : Steel / Cement /Mining / FMCG

Qualification : B Law / LLM (Optional)

Location : Hospet, Corporate Office

Job Requirements

• Eligible Candidate to have passion and drive with excellent leadership skills to lead a team of legal professionals. Considerable experience in handling high stake litigation and hands on experience in contract drafting and validation of supply, service, PPAs, Fund management and real estate agreements is essential.

• Should possess very good interpersonal skills and ability to proactively deal with in-house requirements of corporate legal function including timely completion of deliverables. Must have excellent communication skills and manage functional goals with high degree of responsibility and accountability.

Role and Responsibilities

• Independently provide legal strategy and effectively resolve all legal issues of the Group Companies

• To provide road map and critical advice/ inputs for handling all pending and future litigation

• To manage and conduct all legal cases in a time bound and cost effective manner

• Carry out periodical reviews of the function and provide directions, guidance to the team for legal strategy

• To proactively identify legal risks and provide remedies

• Obtain necessary sanctions, permits, clearances, approvals and NOCs from statutory authorities and ensure legal compliance;

• Support Business for formulating general business strategy from the legal perspective;

• Provide regular updates to Directors in terms of legal proceedings & further action points;

• Update management and key executives with important developments, generally concerning the laws;

• Develop and maintain sustainable relations with solicitors & Sr. Counsels of relevant High Court, Tribunals & Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, legal consultants and network of Corporate Lawyers;

• Co-ordinate with advocates-on-record, counsel and senior counsel;

• Advice management on issues, and where necessary, obtain expert opinions from external sources;

• Represent the company in various legal proceedings and coordinate with legal consultants on behalf of the company;

• Provide review or advice from strategic perspective to ensure business decisions are taken in well informed manner;

• Keep fully informed on all legislation affecting the organization's operations and of all new developments in corporate legal matters, and keep all levels of management informed of applicable new laws and of the progress and results of court cases;

• Develop and mentor a professionally competent team

• Prepare and control department budget to support systematically planned activities and assure optimum deployment of resources within approved budget;

• Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
