Accounting Controller

As an Accounting Controller for our U.S.-based company, your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and maintaining robust internal controls. You will work from our India office and collaborate closely with the U.S. management team to drive day-to-day financial operations effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements following U.S. GAAP standards. - Ensure compliance with IRC, IRS, and state-level tax filings in coordination with external CPAs and auditors. - Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain accuracy. - Support financial planning, cash flow management, and business strategy in collaboration with U.S. finance and leadership teams. - Manage audits, both internal and external, and uphold documentation for regulatory compliance. - Mentor junior accountants or outsourced teams as needed. - Deliver timely reports to management on variances, risks, and opportunities. - Stay updated on U.S. accounting standards, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Qualifications: - Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification. - 7-10 years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, preferably involving U.S. entities. - Profound understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance. - Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP/accounting software. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively with U.S.-based leadership and external auditors. - Previous experience working with multinational companies is advantageous. Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of U.S. corporate tax structure and compliance. - Understanding of multi-entity, multi-currency operations. - Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling. - Leadership experience in managing both offshore and onshore teams.
